Heartland Clergy for Inclusion

acceptance from the heart

“Road to Equality”

August 22, 2011

This last weekend the Human Rights Campaign “Road to Equality” Bus Tour stopped in Omaha and Lincoln for a variety of events.  You can read about them on the HRC blog here.

Heartland Clergy participated in some of the events, especially a workshop on Friday entitled “Pathways to Acceptance:
Supportive Families, Healthy Communities,”
a presentation by Dr. Caitlin Ryan of the Family Acceptance Project, followed by a panel discussion and question and answer period with local leaders.

You can read more about the presentation, here, and read Dr. Ryan fascinating research on the best behaviors for a family to promote health and well-being in their LGBT children, here.
