Step toward Equality in the Heartland
November 16, 2011
Congratulations to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where the City Council yesterday passed an ordinance including sexual orientation in the non-discrimination policies for public employees. This was the first attempt at such an ordinance in Oklahoma City and it passed with a vote of 7-2, including with the vote of Republican mayor Mick Cornett.
Oklahoma-based The Equality Network lauds the decision in their press release here.
